Description
This print was inspired by conversations with white friends and family in which it was clear that many white people struggle with the concept of systemic racism. By mimicking the classic “Yes, We Are Open” sign I hope to visually tie racism to capitalist institutions at large in a way that the viewer is forced to connect the two, so that we may all work to question and change these institutions. Except for the cost of shipping, all proceeds from these prints will be donated to organizations whose work I deeply respect, split between CASA’s Solidarity Fund (which goes directly into the pockets of undocumented immigrants), SWOP Baltimore (which fights for the rights of sex workers), and Red Canary Song (a collective of Asian and migrant sex workers fighting for decriminalization).
